Pagan Press
As paganism has gained acceptance, more and more materials are published to spread information. Where do you get your pagan info? Do you subscribe to any pagan publications? What about newsletters published by pagan or pagan-friendly organizations?
I don't really get any pagan-specific news. I occasionally read Pagan World Report, which I found via a PaganSpeak-er's blog (can't remember who now). The only pagan things I get in the mail are the Azure Green catalog and a monthly mailing from a local wicca supply store. I subscribe to a couple of online newsletters from different pagan groups but they're very unreliable. Some of them I'd even forgotten I subscribe to.
I've occasionally picked up magazines that aren't really pagan-centric but are pagan-friendly. Bitch and Bust come to mind. I also get e-mailings from Wacky Jac and some erotica sites that fit into this category.
As far as books and non-media related info, I have a few authors I enjoy and I like checking out their new work. But I'm quite selective about the books I buy. I have all the 101 info I want and I seek books that teach me instead of rehash.
I think the thing is that I don't actively seek pagan press publications. If I find a compelling book, I'll buy it. If I come across a newsletter I find interesting, I'll try it. But a lot of what I see is pretty basic and if I'm going to invest my reading time, I want to be challenged.
